There is a significant difference between buying artwork because it fills a space and buying a painting because it speaks to you. Mass-produced prints can certainly be useful for decorating a home, but an original painting offers something different. The brushstrokes, textures and details belong to a particular artwork.

For collectors, this individuality is often part of the appeal.

A South American original painting can become a talking point within a home while also representing an appreciation of the artist and the cultural influences behind the work.

How to Choose the Right Painting.

There are no strict rules for choosing art. Start with the artwork itself. Does it hold your attention? Do you enjoy the colours? Does the subject matter interest you? Can you imagine looking at it every day? Then consider the practical details. Measure your wall before purchasing a painting and think about how the artwork will relate to surrounding furniture. A large artwork can anchor an open living space, while several smaller paintings can create a more intimate gallery arrangement.

Lighting also matters. Natural light can dramatically change the appearance of colour throughout the day, while carefully positioned interior lighting can highlight texture and detail.
