Willy Biondani studied Fine Arts in São Paulo in 1979 and built a solid career photographing for fashion and beauty magazines such as *Vogue Brasil*, *Marie Claire Brasil*, *i-D*, *Votre Beauté*, *Depeche Mode*, *Vogue France International*, *Marie Claire Italia*, *Wienner*, and *Elle*, among others. Painting has always been a major inspiration in his work, with light serving as the raw material for creating processes in which—often defying the photographic logic of mere documentation—the artist submits to the unpredictable. It is a realm where he virtually relinquishes control over the work and surrenders to the subtraction of the ego.
Photography itself is a form of technological expression in which the eye, connected to equipment, is constantly framing a reality, imbuing it with new attributes and meanings. The constant pursuit of representing beauty in everyday life led him not only to question and break away from traditional technologies but also to develop techniques requiring him to surrender to an experience and discover himself through a new perspective. Specific processes are created for each shoot he undertakes.
